Futures Month – Throughout the month of January every year, we have a huge range of activities, assemblies and events, focussed on all things careers. From assemblies on local labour market information, to apprenticeship workshops, it’s all covered. Each year group has a slightly different focus to give you the opportunity to cover as much as possible during your 5 years at John Spence. For more information on what is delivered in each year group, visit the ‘Key Documents’ section.

Careers Education – During your ‘Fit for Life’ lessons, you will cover careers education lessons from learning about employability skills in year 7, to writing practice application forms in year 11. Each subject will also try to link their subject to potential careers and plan visits and trips to enhance this.
